Power BI Dev Camp 25 February, 2021 – Session 7 – …

First things first. The video for the Power BI Dev Camp session last month titled Developing Custom Visuals for Power BI is now available.

And now on to our next session which will run on Thursday, Febrary 25th titled Developing with .NET 5 and App-Owns-Data Embedding. In this session, campers will learn how to authenticate service principals and to authenticate users using the Microsoft authentication library named Microsoft.Identity.Web. The session will demonstrate how to acquire embedding data and how to generate embed tokens as service principal using the Power BI Service API.

The session also examines the client-side programming required to embed and interact with reports in the browser using the Power BI JavaScript API. Along the way, the session will also explore advanced development topics such as adding TypeScript support to a Visual Studio Code development project, programming with multi-resource embed tokens and using EffectiveIdentity to leverage row-level security (RLS) in the App-Owns-Data embedding model.

The February session for Power BI Dev Camp will run on Thursday, February 25th at 11:00 AM PST. You can log into the live session using the following URL:
