Power BI Blog: Power BI Home in Desktop

Welcome back to
this week’s edition of the Power BI blog series.  This week, we look at the new Power BI Home
in Desktop.

Power BI Home is a
redesigned home to provide a familiar and centralised “home” for all your Power
BI activities within the Power BI Desktop application.  Microsoft’s stated aim is to enhance
productivity and make it easier to discover and consume content.

With Power BI Home,
you no longer need to navigate through multiple menus or tabs to access your
files and reports.  Therefore, this
interface serves as a hub, similar to other Office products, where you can
manage your reports, all from a single location.

This provides the
capability to:

• initiate a
  new report directly from the new home screen
• access
  reports from recommendations that Power BI has curated
• locate your
  most recent reports through the ‘Quick Access’ lists.
